Cala Millor

Beach Cala Millor

The almost 2 km long, beautiful white sandy beach attracts many sun worshipers and makes Cala Millor the largest holiday area on the eastern coast of Mallorca.

Fine Sand, Child-Friendly Beach

Cala Millor is about 15 km south of Artá and, together with the port of Cala Bona, a popular holiday area. The main attraction is certainly the wide, sandy beach, which is particularly suitable for children, since it doesn’t dip suddenly into the sea. As for the water itself, it’s crystal clear. You can dive, snorkel, go windsurfing and dolphin watching – not a chance of just getting bored while frying in the sun. You can mix with the locals and take part in the local activities on the beautiful promenade or in one of the many bars or cafes of Cala Millor.

Activities

The first hotel for tourists was built on the beach of Cala Millor as early as the 1930s. Since then, the bay has been known as the “better” one (that’s what Cala Millor means), in contrast to the neighboring Cala Bona – which is just the “good” bay. The view you see today in the center of Cala Millor, with its many hotels, comes from the 1980s. The infrastructure for tourists has been developed to perfection. There are numerous leisure facilities, especially for families with children, but there’s also an active nightlife to enjoy. A popular weekly market is held every Monday from 9 am in the morning till 1 pm in the street called Na Penyal, right in the center of Cala Millor. Nature lovers can go hiking in the hinterland through the shady pine forests, taking one of the many easy climbing routes up the hills.

A Tip from Mallorca.org

Take a buggy tour to see the most beautiful spots on the eastern coast – and you can make some new friends, while having fun. Buggies and ATVs can be rented from Cala Millor every season (starting in April).
